Materials
- 75 grams of lace (light fingering). We suggest:
- 50 grams of Merino, 100% merino, lace (light fingering), 50 gr/250 m ball from Knitting for Olive
- 25 grams Soft Silk Mohair, mohair/silk, lace, 25 g/225 m ball from Knitting for Olive
- A 4.5 mm (US 7) circular needle with a 16” circumference
- A cable needle
- A marker ring
- 2 row counters (optional but very practical)
- A wool needle
Gauge
The 16 stitches of the lace chart blocked on 4.5 mm needles = 9 cm approximately. Important: Check the sample and adapt the needle number if necessary.

Yarn over, decreases and cable.

meD knit stitch
meV purl stitch
C4/4G Place 2 stitches on a cable needle behind, knit the next 2 stitches then knit the 2 stitches on hold
C4/4D Place 2 stitches on a cable needle in front, knit the next 2 stitches then knit the 2 stitches on hold
Pattern
Cast on 88 stitches with 4.5 mm needles. Place a marker and join in a circle, taking care not to twist the stitches.
Start the border by knitting 1 purl row, 1 knit row and 1 purl row.
Continue as follows: [R1 of lace chart, R1 of chart A, R1 of lace chart, R1 of chart B] repeat 2 times in total.
Repeat the 8 rows of the lace chart 8 times in total and rows 1 to 10 of chart A and B 6 times, then row 1 to 4 once.
Knit a purl row, a knit row, a purl row then cast off the stitches very loosely.
Finishing touches
Soak for around twenty minutes in a Eucalan wool soap then gently block the collar in order to “open” the lace. Leave to dry flat.
Tuck in all the ends.
Recommended care
Hand wash with wool soap. Dry flat.
