About BC Garn
BC Garn is a family business founded in 1972 by Bo Carstensen. He must have acquired a passion for yarns at a young age, as his mother was a weaver and his father traded in carpet wool. Her mother had already started having her own threads produced for her, because she couldn't get the types of threads and colors she needed for her projects.
Today, BC Garn develops a number of hand and machine knitting yarns. Always in natural fibers, often organic, partly GOTS certified.
In the spring of 2018, Bo and Marianna retired and handed their “baby” over to Britta and Carsten Kremke. What a coincidence that their first names fit the company name so well that they were able to keep the BC Garn brand. Britta has been knitting since the age of 8 (in her mother's yarn shop) and at 21 she was Germany's youngest yarn shop owner. Her husband has a degree in business engineering and works as a marketing consultant. A great symbiosis to promote and develop the brand in the spirit of the original founders.
