The 4 cardinal points is a walk to the rhythm of yesteryear, stitch after stitch, hand in hand, we knit 4 cardigans a year.

In its mission to make knitting accessible to everyone, La Maison Tricotée offers a certain number of free courses every year.
Les 4 cardinal points is a series of weekly and online workshops to knit 1 cardigan per quarter, or 4 in total for the year 2022.

Céline has chosen pretty patterns that will cover different techniques:

In the first quarter we will start with the ALBINI of Orlane Sucche. This seamless cardigan is knitted in the round, from the neckline down with raglan sleeves. Simple finishes at the edges and a slit in the back give it a stylish touch. Find all the information for sizes, yarn and material HERE.
In the second trimester, we will knit the AMARELLE , a pretty lace cardigan by a Montreal designer: Gabrielle Vézina. We will decipher the lace charts and how to make the "nopes".
In the third quarter, we will continue with the CAIM jacket by Sierra Morningstar. This simple jacket will familiarize us with the mosaic. The mosaic uses at least 2 colors and yet only one is used per row. The effect is obtained thanks to a set of slipped stitches.
In the fourth and last quarter, we will end with Anna Johanna's BUDDING cardigan. A beautiful circular and jacquard knit. We will discover the technique of steeking or how to "cut" in your sweater to transform it into a cardigan!

Céline and Clara will be your guides to accompany the few thousand stitches this year.

The 4 cardinal points is also a great community platform to join knitters around the world who will knit the same project as you. A warm, motivating community full of good advice.

Then, then...that's it!

🙌 And it's free!

When does it start?

It starts on Sunday, January 9 at 10:10 AM EST and will continue every week at the same time, every Sunday at 10:10 a.m.

How it works ?

By registering on the site, you will receive a student letter. In this letter, you will find the links to join the 4 Cardinal Points group on Facebook or Slack.

Via Facebook : You can see the video live every Sunday morning. You can also click on the link to watch it later.

Via Slack : A few minutes before the start of the course, you will have the link to watch the live on Youtube. This link is valid at all times and you will also be able to watch the video later.

Why choose one or the other? These 2 social platforms allow you to exchange with other students, post your questions, photos of your progress. Slack doesn't have ads but "clears" histories over time to make room.

What if I don't want to go on any social platform? That's no problem, in that case, just join us on the Youtube channel at class time. On the other hand, if the professor has recommendations, last minute announcements, they will only be on social platforms.
